My All Time Guy Movies

Let me first say I'm sorry. This should have been my first
blog, but I got side tracked with the Marvel/DC movie thing.
As a kid,  I always loved guy movies, especially Martial
aRts and hand to hand combat, and sci-fi. Then came a little
'ol movie called Thr Terminator, which changed alot in what
I saw. Here's my top 10 guy movies from the 70's, 80's,
90's, and 00's.

My Review of Transformers - Dark Of The Moon

I was lucky enough to see the sneak peek of Transformers on Tuesday and wanted to Blog about the next day. I had second thoughts because I may have leaked out some of the good parts without thinking. I've calmed down now and decided to let you tell me what the best parts of the movie you liked, and I'll comment. Let me at least tell you this; if you love explosions, more realistic fight scence, and Transformer blood, GO SEE THIS MOVIE!!!!   

Is the Green Lantern worth seeing?

I got to flip a coin on this one. I never was a fan of the Green Lantern growing up. The story line bored me. I also can't see Brian Reynolds playing the lead because he the goofy guy from the TV show "2 Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place" over 10 years ago. Although, I thought the same way for Beetlejuice playing  Batman in '89; he pulled it off. What do you think?

I did see this movie 2 weeks ago and this comment from GREEN LANTERN (2011) - The summer of spandex begins sums it all for me:

Ryan Reynolds has enough charm to carry the movie, but the end result is a forgettable comic movie. Charisma isn't enough to make for a good action movie. Iron Man had Robert Downey Jr and his loads of witty charm, but it also had an interesting take on the origin story, and a sharp script. In this movie, Hal becomes a Green Lantern and starts kicking ass in about 10 minutes. There's no development, no obstacles to overcome except his tendency to be an asshole most of the time. Blake Lively is there as eye candy, Mark Strong's Sinestro is only there to set up for the inevitable sequel, and the rest of the cast is forgettable.

The CGI ranges from some outstanding close ups to the mediocre. Some of the best scenes in the movie come early, with the dogfight between Hal and Carol's F-35s and the drones being pretty slick, and the attack on Coast City by Parallax is awesome as well, as the big cloud of evilness and fear smashes through buildings, cars, and wreaks serious havoc every where. Apart from a few standout moments, Green Lantern is definitely not up to par with the best comic book movies. To be honest, the Green Lantern might be the most difficult of the comics to adapt to the screen, but you can't fault them for trying.

New X-Men Killed Story Lines

I saw X-Men First Class again to see if I was mistaken to see some story lines shoot down from the previous movies. Here's my list:

1. Professor X has hair. I thought he lost his hair when he was mutated.
2. Mystique: There were no hint in X-Men 2 that Professor X had a close relationship ever.
3. It's always good to see my boy, Wolverine make a cameo, but why wasn't the scene in the bar in the Wolverine movie?
4. Last, but not least in X-Men 3, the was a walking Professor X in the 80's when he and Magnito met with Jean Gray.

Marvel vs DC Movies

Welcome to my 1st post on this site. So let's get started with comparing Marvel vs DC movies. For live action flicks, I think Marvel got it hands down. The Spiderman  Movies were OK, but when X-Men(1, 3), Punisher1, 2), and Iron Man(1,2) came around, I was hooked. On the DC side, Superman(1-3), Batman(1, 2), and the Watchmen are my favorites. In the animated dept, DC kicks Marvels ass with flicks like Superman: Doomsday, Batman: Under the Red Hood/Gotham Knight, Superman/Batman: Apocalypse/Public Enemies, and all the Justice Leagues. What do you think?
